Laurel Highlands Guide Services is Licensed with DCNR Ohiopyle State Park.
GUIDED DAILY RATE:
- $500 – Full Day Float (8-10 hours): 2 anglers per boat, up to 3 boats.
- $500 – Full Day Wade (8-10 hours): 3 anglers per guide, up to 3 guides.
- $400 – Half Day Float or Wade (4-5 hours):

WHERE, WHAT & WHEN:
A float trip (full or half day) with LHGS will be on the Youghiogheny River in a drift boat or oar rigged raft, both crafts are designed for fishing shallow, fast moving rivers (max of two anglers per boat). A typical day on the river with us starts with meeting your guide at the takeout, where we will leave your vehicle, travel upriver to our launch point, drop the boat in, and spend the day on the river. We will stop along the way to have lunch (full day) and fish our favorite spots. After our time on the river, we will arrive back at your vehicle and you will be on your way.
Our Laurel Highlands wade trips are tailored to your request. We can adventure to bluelines in pursuit of wild trout or spend time on local tributaries, learning the basic skills of fly fishing.
Our guide staff is capable of hosting either fly or spin anglers.
LHGS also promotes a catch-and-release ethos and abides correspondingly on all trips.
OVERNIGHT LODGING:
The early start is worth it. You may want to arrive the night before and get more sleep.
