Laurel Highlands Guide Services

A typical trip with us will be a float trip on the Youghiogheny River in a drift boat or oar rigged raft both crafts made for fishing shallow, fast moving rivers (max of two anglers per boat). However, we do guide wade trips on other waterways in the Laurel Highlands and are more than willing to tailor the day to your liking. Our target fish species are trout and smallmouth bass depending on the time of year and section of river.

A typical day on the river entails a 7 am meeting time at the takeout where we will leave your vehicle, shuttle up river to the launch point, drop the boat in, and spend the day on the river. We will stop to have lunch, bathrooms breaks, and of course our favorite fishing spots. In the afternoon or early evening we will arrive back at your vehicle and you will be on your way.

Our guide staff is capable of hosting either fly or spin anglers. LHGS also practices catch-and-release ethos and abides correspondingly on all trips.
